When & how did you get hooked ??

When & how did you guys get hooked by the Carp bug ?? I was about 16 when I first got the bug.

I used to fish Layer pits after the double figure bream. We used to get pestered by the carp (which at first annoyed me) but after a time I starting keeping a tally of the carp I was catching & the sizes. I soon found myself trying to catch big bream and big carp.

It wasn't too long after that I just targeted the carp. I then had a couple of years out when I was at Uni (girls & beer), but soon got the bug back when I started my first job when a guy I worked with got me onto a nice syndicate

i got the carp bug when i was 4 but i have got the step up from the carp bug to the carp al oveing bug ;D ;D

I used to fish for fun then one day hooked a nice carp then that was that but i do still fish for fun on the float rod

when i was about 6 i started fishing and i started carp fishing about 4 years ago

I have fished since the age of six but it was in my early thirties whilst Tench fishing I caught one by accident and the rest is history, I steered away from the Carp scene believing all that was written in those days, that life was too short to attempt to even try and catch a Carp. Times have changed with Carp in abundance and so much easier to catch than first thought.

i was about 12 on a fishery at tyler hill, it was pouring with rain and with my older brother, i was soaked and really pi**ed off, wanting to go home, i was roach bashing when the float shoot under, the rod tip bend over and i was playing my first ever carp, a 9 lb couple of hours later i was into my second of 11lb, hooked every since. all dough i did sometime go back to the roach bashing, but now its carp carp and more carp. (when i can catch them ;D)

I started fishing when i was 4 years of age,going with my dad,then i progress to sea fishing for around 14 years and got bored with that so i went back to fresh water fishing just doing a bit of nodding for a few years.

I didn't get into carp until i was 20/21 years of age love every Mountie of carp fishing and I'm not going to give it up for no man or woman SO THERE

All that has happed in my 37 years of fishing

At the age of 11, I was in my front garden when I saw my next door neighbour and another friend walking up the path with a rod in their hands.
"Where are you off to?" said I, stupidly!!!
Went along with em, after checking if it was alright with mum first!!!!
Caught my first ever fish, a couple of gudgeon, and was hooked instantly.
A few years later, one of the above friends was messing about with carp fishing, along with one of his work colleagues, again went along with him to see what it was like, caught my first 2 carp, 3lb off the surface and a 5lber on paste, and never looked back since!!!
