My first double came from the Legendary Llandrindod Wells fishery in Wales, I went their to try and emulate Chris Yates, my mentor at the time, he caught his first 20lb Carp from this water and I caught my first 10lb Carp, not as big as his but it felt just as good.

My first double was a common from fordwich lake back in the 1980s weighting 11lb 8oz caught from the reeds swim. The bait was a richworths pineapple boiliy on a size 6 kamatsuze hook, standard hair rig from the bend of the hook with a and 2 oz lead and using 10lb line. Reels were Michelin 410s old but they were reliable
