After 40 years of live a fish should be at least getting on for 70lb? just like the one from France that was caught by Paul hunt. But in this country I'm not sure

Dunno about average age over here, would've guessed at about 30 as an average. I know I've been lucky enough to catch 3 different fish over 40 yrs old ..BTW none of em were approaching 70lb

Thats not very old for a carp, especially when a 70lb carp can grow to a right old age of 80 years old in France and south Africa Now thats old, even a human can struggle to live that long these days with every day stress of live. But the stress for a carp must be even more as being hunted by these ugly two legged aliens that keep taking it out of it's domain every time with a hook and line, then put back confusing for Mr and miss carp don't you think?
