If you want to know if a rod is quality or not check the closeness of the weave, the tighter the weave the better the rod....

The weave or carbon weave as it is better known are the lines that go around the circumference of the rod blank, it is the layers of carbon used to build the rod the more layers used equals a tighter weave therefore making a stronger rod, the less layers the weaker the rod.
The best way to see the weave is under direct light place your hand beneath the rod and the weave will be easier to see.
